All of our Tonfa are made from either recycled wood sources, or responsible harvest forests.
Recycled wood is a fantastic source as older wood is more stable and generally stronger than newly harvested wood. It also saves a perfectly good piece of wood from rotting away. To date the oldest piece of recycled wood we have used is likely over 200 years old as it was recovered from a barn in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area that was originally erected in the early 1800's.
Our use of certified responsible harvest wood is important as far too many areas are being clear cut by massive logging companies that do not care for their impact on the earth. Only their profits.
The core ethos of any martial art is to be the best version of yourself. Leave the dojo a better version of you than when you arrived that day.
We aim to reflect that same ethic in our weapons.
